Frequently Asked Questions
The minimum attendance for our afterschool programme is 3 days per week. Places are offered on a 12-month basis only, giving families consistent afterschool care during term time & school holidays.
The National Childcare Scheme, also known as the NCS, is a government childcare subsidy that helps reduce the cost of afterschool care for families. The universal subsidy is not means-tested & is available to eligible families, while some families may also qualify for an income-assessed subsidy.
Yes. Children are offered a nutritious hot meal every day as part of our afterschool programme.
Yes. We are open during school term time & school holidays from 8am to 6pm. We close for a period over Christmas.
Yes. We can offer drop-offs & collections for children’s activities that are within walking distance of the afterschool service.
You can sign your child up through the classes page on our website. For school-based classes, you can also register using the envelope sent home from your child’s school.
Yes. All staff are fully Garda vetted & qualified to coach children in our school-based activity classes.
Yes. Children can usually join our classes after the term has started, subject to availability. Please contact us with your child’s school, class or age group & we’ll be happy to help.
Each children’s activity class runs for approximately 35 minutes.

Your child should bring 2 water bottles, a healthy packed lunch, a change of clothes in case it rains, & suncream for outdoor activities.
Yes. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early on the first day of camp so you have time to complete the sign-in form before activities begin.

We would love all children to attend our camp. However, due to staff ratios, each child must be able to safely take part within a group of approximately 15–20 children. Please contact us before booking if your child has additional needs, so we can discuss whether the camp environment is suitable.
Our camp staff-to-child ratio is 1:12.
Yes. All camp staff are fully Garda vetted & are qualified to teach, coach or supervise children during our camps.
Parents are welcome to stay until their child is settled. However, parents cannot stay for the full duration of the camp.
Kickstart Movements is designed for young children between the ages of 3-9, with activities adapted to suit different age groups, confidence levels & abilities. Our sessions focus on helping children build movement skills, coordination, confidence & social interaction in a fun, supportive environment.
No. Children do not need any previous sports experience to take part. Our programme is built around basic & fundamental movement skills, so every child can join in, learn at their own pace & enjoy being active.
Each session includes fun games, movement activities, basic sports skills, teamwork exercises & simple nutrition education. The goal is to help children become more confident, active & comfortable taking part in physical activity.
No. Sport is used as a fun way to help children develop, but the programme also focuses on confidence, communication, balance, coordination, teamwork, healthy habits & social skills.
